In November 1998 RKM Engineering upgraded
the INCO Manitoba Air Quality network, by supplying, installing and
commissioning 3 AQDL- RTUs as well as a complete central EIS97 system. The
system includes 5 client workstations running the EIS97_client system. In March,
2002, the central system was upgraded to EIS2000.
In April 2004 the system was upgraded to EIS2002, and a real-time website (http://www.inco-thompson-airquality.com),
updated once a minute, was added.
In July 2004 INCO added a fourth air quality station, which included an AQDL2
RTU, for SO2, PM2.5 and PM10.
In October 2008 the system was upgraded to EIS2008. In addition, three new
AQDL2 RTUs with Ethernet communication were supplied to replace the original
AQDL RTUs. The new RTUS include a special driver for the Thermo iSeries
intruments, specifcically the 43i SO2 Analyzer. Data from these
instruments is acquired through MODBUS protocol, and includes all diagnostic
parameters.
Falconbridge Ltd., Kidd Division, Air Quality

Since 1989, RKM Engineering has maintained and enhanced the Air Quality
Network of Falconbridge Ltd., Kidd Creek Division, in Timmins, Ontario. In
January 1993 RKM Engineering replaced five existing RTUs by AQDL based
TeleSAFE's, and has supplied a completely new EIS based Central System for the
Air Quality Network, replacing their older network. The network includes seven
remote MAP display terminals, giving control room operators immediate
information on any environmental impact situation. In the past years, three more
TeleSAFE AQDL-RTUs were added.
In March of 2004 the system was upgraded to EIS2002, and the control room
RTUs were replaced by AQDL2 RTUs using Ethernet communication.
In May of 2006 all remaining AQDL RTUs were replaced by AQDL2 RTUs.
In May of 2008 the EIS server was upgraded to EIS2008.
Falconbridge Ltd., Kidd Division, Water Quality

In 1990 RKM Engineering completed supply, installation and
commissioning of a Central Water Quality system at Kidds Metallurgical Plant,
monitoring three Water Quality RTUs running AQDL. Parameters measured include
pH at all sites, as well as turbidity, precipitation and final effluent flow.
This system has been decommissioned.
